Introducing to Southern Africa, a new bi-modal technology offering the efficiency of rail and flexibility of road in one simple package. We can create a “Terminal Anywhere” in order to penetrate new markets, expand port services and offer new cost effective methods of freight transportation.
In response to the efforts of getting freight off road and back onto rail, we are in the process of developing the RailRunner technology from the USA to meet the logistics challenges in Africa. Utilising a patented rail bogey and purpose-built chassis system, containers can be transformed into rail cars and trains, without terminal or crane facilities. Building a RailRunner “train” requires no more skill than backing the chassis into a truck loading dock, linking chassis and connecting to a loco for the long haul. This unique system can:
- Be utilised in remote areas with only partial rail services
- Provide greater access to market for countries with limited infrastructure
- Eliminate long haul driving with its resultant socio economic disruption
- Replace the necessity for new rolling stock
- Reduce logistics costs as it is a common fact that rail is cheaper than road
- Reduce carbon footprints
